We exist to make whole food nutrition automatic.

One complete meal. 60 seconds. No planning, no prep, no decisions.

Most health-conscious adults already eat one truly nutritious meal a day.

We plan it, shop for it, cook it. Usually dinner. It takes thought, effort, and time. And it's worth it.

The rest of the day is a different story. A rushed breakfast. A skipped lunch. A handful of something between meetings. Not because we don't know better. Because the food environment is working against them.

Processed foods are engineered to be the easiest choice. They're hyperpalatable, everywhere, and require zero thought. Eating well, on the other hand, requires planning, preparation, and constant decision-making. Every meal is a test of willpower against a system designed to win.

The answer isn't more discipline. It's removing the decision entirely.

Field Theory is a complete, whole food meal that requires no planning, no preparation, and no decisions. Mix, shake, done. Sixty seconds. Your second good meal of the day, on autopilot.

And here's the thing: two good meals a day is probably enough. If dinner and your Field Theory meal cover protein, fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats, and micronutrients, the pressure comes off everything else. Lunch doesn't have to be perfect. Snacks don't need to be optimized. You've already done the work.

Kevin Appelbaum, Founder of Field Theory

I spent the last decade at the intersection of nutrition science and technology. At my previous company, Better Therapeutics, we secured the first FDA authorization for a behavioral therapy that used whole food nutrition to treat Type 2 Diabetes. We proved, with clinical data, that food can do what drugs do. Often better. And with no negative side effects.

That work revealed something important. The patients who sustained better health weren't the ones who tried hardest. They were the ones who built nutrition into a routine they didn't have to think about.

Field Theory is built on that principle. Make the healthy choice the automatic choice. Not through willpower. Through design.

How we built that meal.

01
Started from the evidence
Mediterranean, DASH, and MIND dietary patterns. The strongest clinical research on the health benefits of whole food nutrition. Not trends. Not marketing claims. Peer-reviewed science.
02
Selected foods that deliver
27 whole food ingredients, each chosen for nutrient density and the natural food matrix it provides. Nothing synthetic or artificial. No proprietary blends with undisclosed quantities.
03
Verified everything
Third-party tested every batch. Every nutrient amount on the label is verified. Every health benefit claim traces to a specific nutrient, in a specific amount, from a named food source.

What we believe.

The food is the medicine.
The health benefits in dietary pattern research come from food, not from isolated nutrients in tablets. Science doesn't replace food. It helps us understand why food works.
The enemy is the environment.
The modern food system is designed to make processed food the default. Eating well shouldn't require constant vigilance. It should be as easy as not eating well.
Two good meals is probably enough.
Perfection at every meal is unsustainable. If two of your daily meals deliver real nutrition, you've done the work. The rest can take care of itself.
Transparency is the only credibility.
We publish what's in it, how much, and where it comes from. No "proprietary blends." No vague claims. Our Certificates of Analysis are public.
More ingredients is not more nutrition.
27 whole food ingredients, each at meaningful levels. Not "90+ superfoods" at trace amounts for label appeal. Intentional formulation, not ingredient accumulation.
Two good meals a day is probably enough. Field Theory makes one of them automatic.
